About Us

The major functions of the Public Works Department are as follows:

• Acquire right-of-ways- for road and drainage improvements
• Oversight of mosquito control program, drainage and road maintenance employees
• Perform inspection of Parish Bridges in accordance with federal and state National Bridge Inspection Standards. Proper signing of all parish roads
• Prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates for the construction of roads, bridges drainage and other public improvements
• Review and approve subdivision plans for surface drainage, required materials, testing, and construction control for roads and streets
• Supervise and inspect the construction of these improvements
