Research Library

The West Baton Rouge Historical Association collection contains a research library consisting of books and journals covering a vast range of topics including Louisiana history, architecture, the Civil War, and music. The library also contains files of materials on various local topics collected through various sources. These files contain newspaper articles, photos and documents related to subjects such as area plantations, local governments, schools, and businesses. All of these materials are available to researchers and students. 


Oral History Collection

The Oral History Project is a part of the permanent collection of the West Baton Rouge Historical Association. Audio and video recordings of West Baton Rouge residents telling their stories are accessible to interested parties by appointment only. Subjects include plantation life, blues music and local juke joints, local business people, and members of the Aillet Family among many others.
